Director Brett Ratner Is Attempting a Comeback with His Milli Vanilli Biopic Passion Project
Back in 2017 seven actresses, including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, accused the director Brett Ratner of sexual harassment and misconduct. Not long after the allegations came out, Warner Bros. cut ties with the filmmaker and his production company.
Like so many others who were accused of sexual misconduct, I thought Ratner’s career was done for. Well, Ratner, who has denied all the claims made against him, is plotting his comeback. He is teaming up with Millennium Media to helm his long-time passion project, a biopic about the pop duo Milli Vanilli.
If this project actually moves forward, it will be his first directing gig since his awful 2014 movie, Hercules. I’ve never been a fan of Ratner’s work, and I could not care less if he ever made another movie again. The best thing he ever made was Rush Hour.
Ratner also recently picked up life rights to WallStreetBets founders Jaime and Joel Rogozinski and is planning a project based around them and the GameStop stock frenzy.
What do you think about Ratner trying to make a comeback with this Milli Vanilli biopic? I’m sure he knows that this attempt at a comeback is going cause the sexual misconduct claims against him to start up again.
