Director Christopher McQuarrie will Helm Two More MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE Sequels Back-To-Back
I’ve got exciting news for all of you Mission: Impossible fans! Director Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise are set to shoot two more Mission: Impossible sequels back-to-back!
McQuarrie has signed on to write and direct both Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8 and Cruise will obviously reprise his role as Ethan Hunt. The big question is… will Tom Cruise survive whatever crazy-ass stunts that they come up with for these movies!?
The next sequel is set to hit theaters in the summer 2021 and the second will come out in summer 2022. McQuarrie confirmed his return to the series on Twitter, saying:
Missions: Accepted#MissionImpossible

There are no details on the stories that these next two films will tell, but there has been a lot of talk with everyone involve about possibly taking Ethan Hunt into space. It would be pretty crazy if they actually found a way to pull that off effectively in whatever story they decide to tell.
I love this franchise! The films just get better and better and I’m so excited to see that McQuarrie will be back to direct Cruise in two more films!
According to sources, Paramount Pictures is looking to start shooting sometime in 2019 after Cruise is done shooting Top Gun: Maverick.
What do you think about McQuarrie coming back to direct a couple more M:I sequels? What do you hope to see in these sequels?
