Director Colin Trevorrow Confirms Leaked STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Script and Concept Art Is Real

Well, it looks like those leaked script details and recently released concept art for director Colin Trevorrow’s version of Star Wars: Episode IX are real.

When a fan reached out to ask if the concept art was real, the filmmaker responded with confirmation that it is real, that the title of the film was going to be Star Wars: Duel of the Fates, and offered a correction to the leaked script details. He pointed out one false thing, which means the rest of it must be spot on.

The one correction he made was that he didn’t kill off R2-D2, “he just took a bad hit.” Here’s the tweet that he shared:

Well, it’s interesting to see and learn about what could have been. While I did enjoy what J.J. Abrams delivered, I think Trevorrow’s vision might have made for an all-around better film. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll get to see it in comic book form or something.

I know what’s done is done, but it’s still cool to get to see what Trevorrow’s vision for the conclusion of the Skywalker saga could have been.
