Director Fede Alvarez Says The Script For DON'T BREATHE 2 is Ready To Go, But EVIL DEAD 2 is Still in Limbo

For all of you fans of director Fede Alvarez, I have good news and bad news for you. The good news being that the script for Don’t Breathe 2 is ready to go. The bad news is that it doesn’t appear that Evil Dead 2 is nowhere on the radar.

Here is what Alvarez had to say to Movieweb about this:

“We do have a script for Don’t Breathe 2…We don’t have a script for Evil Dead 2. But we do have a script for Don’t Breathe 2 that we wrote. Once I’m done with [The Girl in the Spider’s Web] we’re gonna start thinking of ways to bring that story to the screen. Me directing or me producing. It really depends on the time that we’ll have. I’m particularly excited about that because it’s a really different sequel, when it comes to sequels. It’s a very different approach and I’m excited about that.”

It is going to be very interesting to see where they are going to go with Don’t Breathe 2. If you haven’t watched Don’t Breathe, watch it and tell me what you think he will do with it? It certainly was a pretty crazy movie that ended up being gag inducing near the end.

Honestly, even though the movies were good, I don’t think either one of them needs a sequel. In a previous interview this past summer, Alvarez said that the Evil Dead sequel would only happen if there's a good story he and everyone else can agree on:

“Look, I love those movies. Making my Evil Dead was an amazing experience, it was my first film. So, going back at some point will be a possibility. I mean, I’m really good friends with all those guys, with Bruce, and Sam, and Rob (Tapert, who has produced all the Evil Dead movies). So, we always chat about it. The good news — and I think that’s what sometimes people don’t understand — is, none of those guys will make any of these movies just because they can, just because it’s good business. They will only make it if they believe they have some good story to tell. A lot of people say that in this industry, but most of the time it’s not true. With those guys, all of us involved in those movies, we will just make them if we believe there’s a story that has to be told, and is awesome, and is great, and we believe that it will be better than anything that will be done before in that world. [When] we find that story, when we all agree on what it is, it will probably happen.”

They obviously haven’t found a good story to tell.

Let me know what you think. Would you like to see a sequel to Don’t Breathe 2 or Evil Dead 2?
