Director Gore Verbinski Has Just Dropped Out of Channing Tatum's GAMBIT
Earlier today we reported that Channing Tatum's Gambit was supposed to start shooting with director Gore Verbinski. Well, things just took a big unexpected turn. According to Deadline, Verbinski has dropped out of the project.
The report says that this was "an amicable split", and that he left due to scheduling issues. Channing Tatum remains aboard as the lead role.
This movie just can't seem to get a break! It's crazy that it's gone through so many issues. This is director number three that has come and gone, which is a shame because I was excited about seeing Verbinski's vision come to life. I like Verbinski's style. Doug Liman and Rupert Wyatt were the previous two directors attached.
There's no word on who might end up replacing him, but I'm sure the studio is already on the hunt. Regardless of the issues, the studio and Tatum are determined to get this movie into production!
Who would you like to see come on board to direct the movie? Hopefully whoever they get will actually work out this time!
