Director Jordan Peele Reportedly Eyed for New Marvel Movie
Marvel Studios could be looking to shake things up in a big way. A new report claims the studio has its eye on Jordan Peele for a future Marvel Cinematic Universe project. Nothing is locked in, and there’s been no official announcement, but it would be really interesting to see Peele take on a Marvel project.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios has internally discussed the possibility of bringing Peele into the fold as a director. The report doesn’t point to any specific movie, and there’s no indication that a formal offer has been made.
This isn’t the first time Peele’s name has come up in connection with Marvel. Earlier reporting from Jeff Sneider revealed on The Hot Mic podcast that Peele met with Marvel Studios to talk about a potential directing gig.
During that meeting, Peele was reportedly considered for Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot. The project ultimately went to Jake Schreier, who directed Thunderbolts*. Sneider later clarified that while discussions did happen, no deal or specific project came together.
Peele’s career path makes him an especially interesting choice for Marvel. After breaking out in comedy, he made a sharp pivot into filmmaking and quickly became one of the most distinctive voices in Hollywood.
His directorial debut Get Out earned massive acclaim, including an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He followed that up with Us and Nope, while also producing projects like Candyman and BlacKkKlansman.
His work often blends genre storytelling with sharp social commentary, a mix that could bring something very different to the MCU.
All of this comes as Marvel Studios moves through a major transition. The studio is deep into developing Phase 6, which is set to wrap up the Multiverse Saga with Avengers: Secret Wars. That film is currently scheduled for a December 2027 release, with Phase 7 expected to kick off in 2028.
For now, Peele’s involvement remains in rumor territory. Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything, and there’s no word on which project he might tackle if talks move forward. Still, the idea of Jordan Peele stepping into the Marvel sandbox is an interesting one. We’ll just have to wait and see if anything comes of it.
