Director Josh Boone Reveals a Bloody Logo For THE NEW MUTANTS Film

Director Josh Boone recently posted a photo on Instagram of the slate that he's using while directing The New Mutants film for Fox. The slate features a bloody logo for the film and he announces that they are in their final week of production.

It was rumored last week that the film might have already completed shooting. The rumor was close! It's pretty crazy that we haven't really heard or seen anything from the film since it started shooting. This slate gives us our first photo from the production.

So what up with the bloody logo? Well, you may recall Boone talking about the movie a few months ago in which he explained The New Mutants was going to be a "full-fledged horror" film.

“We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We’re trying to do something very, very different.”

He also offered up some plot details saying:

"Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves."

I'm actually really excited about this movie. I think it's going to deliver something very unique and fun. It definitely sounds like something we haven't really seen yet from a comic book movie. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

The film stars Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Blu Hunt as Dani Moonstar, and Henry Zaga as Sunspot.

New Mutants is set to hit theaters on April 13, 2018.
