KINGSMAN Director Matthew Vaughn Is Planning Seven More Films in the Franchise

It looks like filmmaker Matthew Vaughn has got even bigger plans than we thought for the Kingsman franchise. Marv Group CEO Zygi Kamasa has said that Vaughn is plotting “something like seven more Kingsman films” as part of the production company’s expansion plans. He went on to say:

“We want to grow the business and the output. We have a Kingsman TV series in the works and there are two-three other franchises that are being developed alongside the Kingsman world.”

As of right now, two Kingsman films have been released, and there’s the prequel film, The King’s Man, which is coming to theaters in February of next year. That film stars Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Bruhl, Stanley Tucci, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Djimon Hounsou.

These films have had successful box office runs, so it makes sense that Marv and Vaughn want to keep pumping them out, and it looks like they are going to keep making them until audiences and fans get tired of watching them.

I’ve enjoyed the Kingsman franchise so far! I love the energetic and explosive over-the-top action, and I’ve enjoyed the crazy stories that have been told. It will be interesting to see how they will continue the franchise with these new film and TV projects that are in development.

Vaughn has already said he wants to make Kingsman 3, and that after that he would start branching off into standalone character spin-off films. He previously explained:

"I think there’s a story in my head which will be finished by the end of the next one. And then after that then, of course, there could be Statesman movies, there could be spinoff character films. The universe could continue with new agents. Or, you know, Colin (Firth) could become Arthur (…) or new characters could come in. Or new kids get trained. There’s so many options, but I also think it’s better not to be too greedy."

Now we know how many of these films he’s currently planning. Are you excited to hear that we are getting seven new Kingman movies?
