Director Patty Jenkins Knows How She Wants WONDER WOMAN's Story Arc To End with Part 3
We still have a long way to go before Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters. It’s still almost a year and a half away from being released! But, director Patty Jenkins already know what she wants to do with the character in Wonder Woman 3. In fact, it sounds like Wonder Woman 3 will bring an end to the story arc that she started with the first movie.
We didn’t really know how many Wonder Woman films we would get, but apparently Jenkins only planned for three. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the filmmaker was asked about her dream projects that she wants to develop in the future. On top of an idea she has for a love story set in New York City, Jenkins talks about completing her story for Wonder Woman:
“I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3. Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that.”
Could Wonder Woman return for more films after this story arc comes to an end? Of course! We just don’t exactly know what the future holds for the character beyond the upcoming film.
Hopefully, Jenkins comes back to direct Wonder Woman 3, but judging by the comment, there’s a chance that she might not jump back into the directors chair. She’s obviously got a lot of other projects lining up that she might want to take on when she’s finished with Wonder Woman 1984.
In the end, though, it’s good to know that Jenkins has a clear vision for the heroine and how she wants to bring her story to a close.
