Disney+ Announces STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH Is Getting a Second Season
Disney+ has announced Lucasfilm’s animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be getting a Season 2 and that it will launch in 2022! This is great news as this has been such a fantastic Star Wars series that fans have been enjoying. I’m pretty stoked that we’ve got another season coming!
Michael Paull, President of Disney+ and ESPN+ said in a statement, “Fans have enthusiastically embraced the action and drama of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and we are excited to see the Star Wars animated universe continue to expand on Disney+. As the dedicated streaming home for the Star Wars franchise, we can’t wait for the second season of this fan-favorite animated series.”
Executive producer Dave Filoni said, “The entire Lucasfilm Animation team and I would like to thank Disney+ and our fans for the opportunity to continue telling the story of the Bad Batch.”
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars), also known as Clone Force 99, “as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army -- each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.”
Part 1 of the two-part finale of Season 1 of the series will be available to stream tonight at midnight, only on Disney+. Are you excited that we’re getting a second season of The Bad Batch!?
