Disney CEO Bob Iger Made $31.6 Million in 2023
In case we needed another reminder of how hard it is to get through life these days financially, Disney CEO Bob Iger doesn’t really feel that kind of pain. Iger made $31.6 million in 2023, which is a ridiculous amount of money. But I will point out that it is down from the $45.9 million that he made in 2021, which was his last prior full year of employment at the company.
Variety broke down Iger’s 2023 pay package which “included $865,385 in base salary, plus 16.1 million in stock awards, $10 million in stock-option awards, $2.14 million cash bonus and $2.48 million in other compensation.” This is al;l according to the company’s proxy statement filed Tuesday with the SEC.
Iger’s contract with Disney runs through the end of 2026 and he’ll continue to make an absurd amount of money. It would be quite a thing to never have to worry about money, and Iger put a lot of people in that position of financial hardship.
While Iger made that kind of money, he implemented mass layoffs which ultimately affected more than 8,000 workers, among other cost-cutting and strategic moves. Iger also said some pretty stupid and ignorant things during the writers and actors strikes.
It’s pretty wild seeing how much money these people who run Hollywood make! The tech giant guys are making even more!
