Disney CEO Bob Iger Says DEADPOOL Can Stay R-Rated and They Are Open To a "Marvel-R Brand"
One of the biggest concerns among Marvel fans about this Disney and Fox merger is what will happen to the R-rated comic book films like Deadpool? Well, now that the deal is done, we have our answer! Before we get into it, I have to share this funny tweet that Ryan Reynolds shared of Deadpool getting in trouble with Disney:

It doesn't seem like we have to worry about this, though. During a call with investors following the purchase of Fox, Disney CEO Bob Iger addressed the future of Deadpool and if they would let it keep the R-rated and this is what he said:
"It [Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool. As long as we let the audiences know what's coming, we think we can manage that fine."
Thank you!!! Now that that has been cleared up, fans can be fully excited about this deal without having to worry about seeing a watered down PG-13 Deadpool movie! Not only that, but they are open to a "Marvel-R brand" which means Deadpool probably won't be the only R-rated Marvel movie that we see get made under Disney's control, which is great! I'm so happy to hear this!
These R-rated Marvel films saw a lot of success at Fox, and it's good that Disney sees and understands how the fans feel about this stuff and that they are willing to keep it going for them.
