Disney Chief Reveals That Disney+ Content Will Be Available to Users Even After It Leaves the Streamer as Long as Subscribers Download the Content
We are in the final stretch now awaiting the arrival of Disney+, the awesome new streaming service that will bring us the entire Disney collection from the vault, as well as everything Marvel and Star Wars, and the awesome brand new original content that is being produced. The pot just keeps getting sweeter with this service, and today we have some very cool news that makes the streamer even more competitive.
This week at the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit, Disney Company chief Bob Iger offered up a piece of news about the streamer that was not previously known. Iger disclosed that while most of the content on the streamer will be there to stay, some content might come and go, and when it does go, subscribers of the service will still have access to all of it, as long as it is downloaded to a device. He said:
“if you are a subscriber, you can download [content] and put it on a device and it will stay on that device as long as you continue to subscribe.”
This is a very cool and refreshing change from the other streamers, who lose content all the time without a trace. It will especially be good for kids who have favorite movies or programming that they like to watch repetitively. It’s an awesome courtesy and just another way the company is going above and beyond.
I can’t wait to get into Disney+ and show my kids old favorite movies, and watch all the awesome new content together. Are you stoked for Disney+? What do you think of this accommodating feature?
Disney+ becomes available on November 12th.
