Disney Clears Final Regulatory Hurdle and Sets Date for Acquisition of Fox to Take Effect
The day is finally here. The deal in which Disney acquires 21st Century Fox will close on March 20, 2019. Disney recently indicated that it cleared the final hurdles in Mexico and Fox shareholders have until Thursday to decide if they want cash, Disney stock, or a mix. Each share of Fox will be valued at $38 when the acquisition goes into effect at 12:02 AM Eastern Time. It’s been a long battle for Disney, but it’s finally won. I know I’ve voiced my concerns about the acquisition, but I am excited to see the Marvel characters back in the MCU.
