Disney Close to Antitrust Approval if Fox is Acquired

Disney just increased their bid to acquire Fox all the way up to $71.3 billion and everyone is expecting Comcast to submit a counteroffer. However, Comcast may have just been dealt another big blow.

Bloomberg is reporting that one of their sources has said that if Disney wins the bidding war, it could get approval from the Department of Justice in as little as two weeks. Disney has already agreed to sell off some assets in order to address competition problems that would prove problematic with antitrust law.

This hurdle will reportedly be a lot harder for Comcast to clear. If the DOJ does give its approval, Comcast will have to work really hard to have a chance of beating Disney.
