Disney Developing a Live-Action Remake of THE ARISTOCATS

Disney is developing a live-action remake of its classic 1970s animated film The Aristocats. The movie will be helmed by Peter Rabbit director Will Gluck and the script will be written by Onward scribe Keith Bunin.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t watched The Aristocats since I was a kid, and I honestly don’t remember much about it. It was just one of those Disney animated movies that I never revisited or had the desire to revisit. Out of all the films Disney could have remade, The Aristocats is definitely an interesting choice.

The original film follows a family of aristocratic cats, “mother Duchess and her three kittens Berlioz, Marie and Toulouse, living a luxurious life in Paris. But when their owner’s butler finds out that the cats are set to receive a massive fortune, he kidnaps them and abandons them in an unfamiliar land — the country. The aristocats then must befriend an alley cat, named Thomas O’Malley, to help them get home before the butler steals what is rightfully theirs.”

I really don’t care about this movie getting a live-action remake. I’m sure there are some fans out there that will be happy with the news. Who knows, maybe it will make for a fun live-action movie! What do you all think about Disney remaking The Aristocats?

I included the trailer for the film below, for those of you who need a reminder of what this movie is.
