Disney Drops First Photo From Live-Action LILO & STITCH; Reveals ICE AGE 6 Is in the Works With Original Cast Returning
Disney has dropped the first photo from the upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch, which features everyone’s favorite blue alien, who is standing on Lilo’s bed and wearing a yellow lei. He looks really cute in the pic, and I think it’s going to be a fun movie!
The film is being directed by Dean Fleischer Camp from a screenplay adapted by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright. Lilo & Stitch is a live-action reimagining of the animated classic, and it will star Maia Kealoha as Lilo; Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani; Billy Magnussen as Pleakley; Tia Carrere (who voiced Nani in the original) will play Mrs. Kekoa in this film; Chris Sanders, who voiced Stitch originally, as well as wrote the first film, will return to voice Stitch; with Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles; and Zach Galifianakis as Jumba.
Lilo & Stitch will be released in theaters on May 23, 2025.
Disney also revealed this weekend that they are working on an Ice Age 6 movie, which has already entered into production. This is another franchise inherited by the studio after it acquired 20th Century Fox, and it was previously relaunched on Disney+ with the Simon Pegg-led The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild.
This movie will be a true sequel with returning stars Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, and Simon Pegg.
