Disney Is Already Developing a Sequel to MARY POPPINS RETURNS

According to director Rob Marshall, he is currently developing a sequel to Mary Poppins Returns. The film was a success, so it makes sense that Disney would want to produce another one!

While talking to The Sun, Marshall said, “It is early stages but I will say right now that there were eight books, so there’s a lot of great material still to mine. That’s what we worked from, those incredible eight books of P.L. Travers. So, you know...”

A lot of fans seemed to love Mary Poppins Returns, and whether you liked the movie or not, you can’t deny that Emily Blunt was fantastic in the lead role. As you’d imagine, she will be back to reprise her role if the studio ultimately greenlights the sequel.

With all of the stories that Travers told about the character, Marshall doesn’t think there’s any reason to stop making Mary Poppins films. He went on to say:

“Listen, how many Star Wars films have there been, you know what I mean? Or James Bond films. If there’s a great character and story to tell, why not?"

Hey, if the audiences want more, Disney might as well give it to them. The question is, did you like Mary Poppins Returns and would you want to see another sequel?
