Disney is Looking To Reboot The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN Franchise with The Writers of DEADPOOL

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. According to Deadline, the studio is looking at rebooting the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise because they want more of that billion dollar box office action.

The studio has met with the writing team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and they are in early talks to write the script. This is the same writing team would wrote Zombieland and both of the Deadpool movies.

These screenwriters are the only reason why I would be interested in watching this movie. They have such a wild and fun style and it would be interesting to see them bring that style to the Pirates franchise.

Jerry Bruckheimer, who has been on board the pirate ship from the very beginning, will continue to produce the film as they move forward the reboot. There’s no no official word on if Johnny Deep will return, but if they are rebooting the franchise, I imagine Disney finally got tired of him.

What do you all think about Disney rebooting the Pirates franchise with the Reese and Wernick?
