Disney Is Producing a PERCY JACKSON Series for Disney+
I’ve got some exciting news for all of you Percy Jackson fans out there! Author Rick Riordan and his wife Becky announced on Twitter today that the epic fantasy story would be coming to Disney+!
Late last year, the author confirmed that he had been meeting with Disney to talk about the potential of a series adaptation, and now it’s happening! Riordan also wrote on Twitter:
“We are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one.”
He also assured fans that he and his wife, Becky, would be involved “in person in every aspect of the show.” You can check out the two tweets he shared below:

Percy Jackson & the Olympians book series centers around a 12-year-old Percy Jackson who discovers he is a son of the Greek god Poseidon. The first couple of books were adapted into films by 20th Century Fox. The films were ok, but I think it will make for a much better TV series than a film series, especially with that special touch of Disney magic added to it.
There are currently no details on who is developing the series as writers or directors, but all of that information will be revealed.
