Disney is Rebooting THE MUPPETS Again For Their Streaming Service

Disney Studios is adding a new series to their streaming service. According to THR, they plan on once again trying to reboot The Muppets

Disney acquired The Muppets Studio in 2004 and they tried to revive it with a prime time ABC comedy with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang in 2016. That show was canceled after one season.

Will the series be able to find success on their exclusive streaming service? I guess we'll have to wait and see. Disney is currently on the hunt for a writer to take on the new Muppet series. I wonder what they'll try to do with these characters this time.

The streaming service will also include Star Wars and Marvel series and it may also include a reboot of High School Musical, The Mighty Ducks, and a Monsters Inc. series. The report also says:

The Disney brand extension is expected to make a heavy push into film with an eye on Disney's robust library of family titles. The Parent Trap (1998), Father of the Bride (1991) and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) are among the first projects on the table for potential film reboots.

There's still no word on when the streaming service will launch, but it will happen sometime in 2019. What do you think about all these projects and reboots? Are you happy to see they are going to try and keep The Muppets franchise alive on the streaming service?
