Disney is Rebranding a Major Stadium as Marvel Stadium

While Disney continues to rake in the cash with their Marvel films, they are now taking the Marvel brand to a new level. Disney has made a deal with Melbourne Stadium Limited, who owns Etihad Stadium in the Docklands precinct of Melbourne, Australia.

Disney will rename the stadium Marvel Stadium and they will completely rebrand it. The contract they've signed is for eight years and it will launch on September 1st. As you might expect, it will also feature a new Marvel retail store inside.

MSL CEO Michael Green had this to say in a statement:

"Marvel is a powerhouse in the entertainment industry and one of the most recognized brand names in the world. It is a brand dedicated to audience experiences, which firmly aligns with our vision to create incredible experiences for fans.
"Over 18-years, we have become the world’s busiest multi-purpose stadium. Now, we look forward to a new era of entertainment for the stadium where we will push the envelope and continue to deliver world-class events and fan engagement.
"This partnership will allow us to take the stadium atmosphere to the next level and create memorable experiences for a vast array of audiences and we look forward to delivering a truly game-changing experience."

I think it's pretty cool that Marvel is now getting its own stadium! I'm pretty sure that I'll never get to see it, but the fact that it exists is good enough. It'll be fun to see how far they go with the rebranding of the stadium.

What are your thoughts on Marvel getting its own stadium?
