Disney+ is Reportedly Creating an Adult Section For R-Rated Content

While a lot of fans have been enjoying Disney+, as you know, there are no R-rated films or other mature content available on the streaming service. They’ve only allowed films with PG-13, PG, and G ratings.

There a lot of great R-rated films under the Disney banner, and it’s been a shame that they haven’t made those films in the library available. But, that might all change. There’s a new rumor that’s surfaced that says Disney is planning to add an adult-section to Disney+. Reporter Bill Hunt says:

"Hearing interesting reports from sources in the last couple days that Disney is creating essentially a more adult section of Disney+ that will require pin code access. And that's where all of the Fox and MGM content will go moving forward. Including lots of #4K."

He later clarified that he meant to say Touchstone, not MGM, as that studio is one responsible for releasing films for older audiences. There was also Miramax.

"It makes sense for some of these Fox and [Touchstone] titles to go on Disney+ because it already has a far larger international reach than Hulu (which is only available in the US and Japan at the moment)."

It would make sense for Disney to take advantage of all this R-rated content that they’re sitting on by including it on Disney+. It would definitely make the streaming service a bit more appealing and increase the subscriber count.
