Disney is Reportedly Talking About NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS Sequels or a Live-Action Version

Dear Disney, just stop. Stop reviving and remaking your own movies because you know that a bunch of people will give you a bunch of money because nostalgia. The latest rumor about Disney is that they’re looking to bring The Nightmare Before Christmas back in some new way. According to Moviehole, Disney is talking about “do[ing] something with Nightmare Before Christmas – probably a sequel but live-action possible.”

Look, I’m in no way the biggest Nightmare fan. Maybe I’m reading into this wrong. But Disney, stop. If these talks are happening, just stop them. First, a live-action would be garbage. You think people are bad-mouthing Will Smith’s Genie for Aladdin, just wait until you unveil Jack Skellington. Second, Tim Burton is against sequels. Or at least he was in 2006 when he told MTV:

I was always very protective of [‘Nightmare’], not to do sequels or things of that kind. You know, ‘Jack visits Thanksgiving world’ or other kinds of things, just because I felt the movie had a purity to it and the people that like it. Because it’s not a mass-market kind of thing, it was important to kind of keep that purity of it. I try to respect people and keep the purity of the project as much as possible.

Third, Nightmare works fantastically as a standalone film, and you’re just getting greedy.

Am I wrong? Does the world want a sequel or live action version of Nightmare Before Christmas?
