Disney Looking to Reconcile With Johnny Depp in Hopes of Bringing Him Back For One More PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

It has been seven years since Disney last released a Pirates of the Caribbean movie starring Johnny Depp as the charming and inebriated Captain Jack Sparrow.

The actor went through a period of being on the outs with both the Pirates franchise at Disney, as well as the Fantastic Beasts franchise at Warner Bros. after being accused of abuse by his former partner.

The actor regained popularity after winning a defamation case against his ex, and now Disney is hoping he will reconsider the role that made the Pirates franchise successful.

In a recent report from Variety, Disney’s current slate is discussed. The studio has seen a huge success with the theatrical release of the sequel Moana 2, and they are nervous about the upcoming live-action remake of Snow White, as its star has created some controversy around the film.

So they’re hoping to bank on some properties that have secured them success in the past. “Pirates” producer Jerry Bruckheimer is working on the future of the franchise, and sources say the studio is hoping to meet with Johnny Depp and woo him back into the role.

Bruckheimer is developing two versions of Pirates of the Caribbean film projects on parallel tracks, and one of them could bring Depp back into the fold if the actor and Disney can reconcile.

I can’t really say that I care too much about the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, but I do think that Johnny Depp would add to the appeal of another film.

What do you think? Would you like to see Depp return to play Captain Jack Sparrow?
