Disney Offers First Look at New ROCKETEER Animated Series and Announces VIKINGSKOOL

Disney has released the first image from their upcoming Rocketeer animated adventure series for kids called The Rocketeer. They also announced a new animated series they are developing called Vikingskool and they offer a piece of art giving us a glimpse at what they are planning.

The Rocketeer was inspired by the classic Dave Stevens comic book series and it will introduce a whole new generation of kids to the property. Here's the synopsis:

The Rocketeer follows Kit, a young girl who receives a surprise package on her birthday revealing that she’s next in line to become the Rocketeer, a legendary superhero who has the ability to fly with the help of a rocket-powered jet pack. Armed with her cool new gear and secret identity, Kit is ready to take flight and save the day with her gadget-minded best friend, Tesh, and airplane-mechanic uncle, Ambrose, who join her on epic adventures.

I know this is for kids, but I'm still curious to see how it turns out because I'm such a huge fan of the franchise!

Vikingskool was originally pitched towards more mature audiences and is now being developed into something that both kids and adults will enjoy.

According to Variety, The series will follow "a group of young would-be Viking warriors in an elite Vikingskool. Ross described the alumni as being 'Like freshmen in ‘Top Gun,’ but for Vikings.'"

The group will embark on a series of humorous and exciting adventures in a mystical world. At the heart of the tale are three best friends: Erik, Arnie and Ilba, each with their own unique Viking strengths and weaknesses.

This could end up being a fun series that could tap into the How to Train Your Dragon market.
