Walt Disney Studios has decided to reboot the live-action film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. I was really confused when I read this news, as there was a live-action movie adaptation that was made by Disney in 2014, and it was really good.

The story is based on the classic picture book by Judith Viorst, which tells an endearing story, but doesn’t have any sequels itself. So it didn’t make such sense to me to remake it. But Deadline reports that the new story will be told with a multi-generational Latin family, and that the film will tell the story with a new spin.

Matt Lopez, writer of Bedtime Stories, Race to Witch Mountain, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is writing the film, as well as the script for an upcoming Latin-family adaptation for a rebooted Father of The Bride pic for Warner Bros.

I think they will be able to do something fun with this story, and it will be able to reach people who are fans of good, family films. What do you think of this classic kids story getting another adaptation?
