Disney Releases Visually Stunning New Trailer for Jon Favreau's THE LION KING

“You must take your place in the circle of life.”

Disney has released a brand new trailer for director Jon Favreau’s adaptation of The Lion King and it is looking like a beautifully-made film filled with stunning visuals. As you’ll see, this movie is going to follow the story of the original film very closely.

The trailer also features our first look at several of the characters from the film including Scar, Nala, Timon, Pumba, Zazu, and more. Favreau used the same cutting-edge CG technology he used in The Jungle Book to bring these characters and this story to life in an amazing way.

Disney’s “The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau (“The Jungle Book”), journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.

The all-star voice cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Oliver as Zazu, and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa.

The Lion King opens in U.S. theaters on July 19, 2019. Are you excited about this movie?
