Disney Wants Rob Marshall To Direct The Live-Action Adaptation of THE LITTLE MERMAID

Disney is looking to start moving forward on their live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. According to Deadline, the studio wants Rob Marshall to direct the film. Marshall is best known for his films Chicago, Into the Woods, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

According to the report, he is their top choice, and he's been offered the chance to direct it. They obviously have had good experiences working with him in the. past. Now we are just waiting to see if he ends up accepting the offer. Chances are we'll find out after the holidays.

The new movie will be a musical based on the classic animated film and it will feature new songs written by Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken.

Disney is finding a lot of success and make a ton of money with the live-action adaptations of their classic animated films. I have no doubt The Little Mermaid is going to be a massive hit.
