Disney Was Once Again the Number One Studio in the World Wide and Domestic Box Offices in 2022 Raking in $4.9 Billion WW
It comes as no surprise that Disney has swooped in to claim the title of number one studio in the world this past year, as this is its seventh consecutive year to make top numbers in both domestic and world wide box office sales. It brought in a worldwide $4.9 billion, from a domestic $2 billion, and an overseas $2.9 billion.
Disney had 16 theatrical releases, including four of the top eight movies of 2022 stateside with Avatar: The Way of Water, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder, contributing to an estimated 27% domestic market share.

It was a good year for Disney, and they don’t look to be slowing down, with several of the most-anticipated films headed our way in 2023 being under the Disney umbrella. What movies are you most looking forward to seeing this year?
