Disney Was Reportedly Impressed By a HAN SOLO Sizzle Reel That They Saw Before Directors Were Fired
Some interesting new information has come to light regarding the Han Solo footage that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller shot before they were fired. According to Star Wars News, a sizzle reel was screened for Disney licenses division about a month ago and they were impressed by what they saw.
A month ago a #HanSolo sizzle reel was shown to Disney licensees and we hear people were very impressed with it. That's a fact. 1/2

They were especially impressed with Glover and Ehrenreich. That's why we think Alden will do just fine as young Han. :) #excited 2/2

This is interesting considering that not long after the directors were fired, and there was a ton of behind-the-scenes drama revealed that included Alden Ehrenreich needing an acting coach brought in. You can get caught up on all of that stuff here.
This just adds a bit more confusion as to why the directors were fired and replaced by Ron Howard. Lucasfilm obviously had their reasons! I'd be interested to know what details that have surfaced are true and which ones are completely blown out of proportion.
Either way, what's done is done and I just hope that in the end Lucasfilm and their creative team delivers the best Han Solo movie possible.
