Disney Will Release a New Trailer for Marvel's THE NEW MUTANTS Next Month
We’ve got a new update regarding director Josh Boone’s Marvel X-Men horror movie The New Mutants to share with you. There’s been radio silence on this film for some time, but this movie is going to be released by Marvel and Disney, and next month a new trailer will be released for it.
According to Boone, the new trailer will drop in January, and on top of that, New Mutants comics artist Bill Sienkiewicz says that the film has Marvel’s “blessing.” That’s a good sign!
While a guest on the Fatman Beyond podcast, Sienkiewicz revealed that the movie has Marvel’s blessing:
“I don’t know if I’m even allowed to mention any of this, but I will say that The New Mutants film, if you’ve heard anything about it the last couple years… two days ago, I heard from Josh Boone, the director. And he sent me a new trailer. They’ve been working on it, and it is phenomenal. I got chills. It looks like, because of the whole Disney-Fox merger, takeover, whatever… it’s got the blessings of Marvel. And it feels more Marvel in terms of what they’re doing, but also the horror elements of the film are in place.”
New Mutants is still scheduled to be released on April 3rd, 2020, and I’m happy to see that Disney is sticking with their plans to release the movie. The New Mutants is a film that I’ve been excited about seeing! I liked the first trailer that was released, and the film has been getting a lot of positive feedback from the test screenings. So even though it’s taken a long time to get released, there’s a good chance that this movie is going to be good!
The cast for the film includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, and Blu Hunt as fallen Mirage. Here’s the synopsis:
Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.
