Lucasfilm Wouldn't Let RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET Make Fun of Poor Kylo Ren

It seems that any jokes at the expense of the Star Wars villain Kylo are off limits at Disney. That’s kind of a shame because there are a lot of things about Kylo Ren that can be made fun of! Hell, fans have been making fun of him since he was first introduced!

Rich Moore, the director of the upcoming Disney animated film Ralph Breaks The Internet, wanted to include a joke about Kylo Ren in the movie. He wanted to portray the villain as a spoiled child, but Lucasfilm told him no.

In a recent interview with IGN, Moore said that Kylo Ren was off limits. Apparently Lucasfilm doesn’t want to taint the character’s fearsome and complicated persona.

“At one point we had a joke about Kylo Ren being kind of a spoiled child. We went to Lucasfilm and said, here’s what we’re doing. And they said, well, we’d prefer that you don’t show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we’d prefer you don’t do that. So we were respectful of that.”

The funny thing is, Kylo Ren comes off as a spoiled brat that has temper tantrums in the Star Wars films! It’s like the character is asking for those kinds of jokes! Lucasfilm obviously doesn’t see it that way, though.

What do you think about Lucasfilm shutting down jokes about Kylo Ren?
