Disneyland Animatronics Can Dance Now and It's Kinda Crazy

A new Beauty and the Beast attraction opened up at Tokyo Disneyland, and it features new animatronics that are actually dancing! That creative team at Walt Disney Imagineering have been working on and perfecting animatronics since the 1950s, and it’s pretty crazy seeing how far these have come.

The video below shows the Belle and Adam animatronics in the Beauty and the Beast attraction doing the waltz. I’ve never seen anything like this, and it’s really quite beautiful. The movement of the animatronics and footwork of the dancing flows so well. It’s impressive stuff!

Hell, five to ten years from now… who knows! Disneyland may have animatronic characters walking around Disneyland interacting with guests! This is still the early stages of Westworld, but one day… we’ll probably get there.
