Disneyland is Going To Open a PRINCESS AND THE FROG-Themed Restaurant
Disney has announced that Disneyland is getting a new Princess and the Frog-themed restaurant that will go along with Splash Mountain's transformation into Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
The restaurant will be called Tiana’s Palace, and it will be located in New Orleans Square at Disneyland and Disneyland Resort will replace the nearby French Market Restaurant. It will be a quick-service dining restaurant that offers authentic New Orleans flavors and expands on current favorites with seasonal flavors.
The French Market Restaurant, along with the fan-favorite Mint Julep Bar situated within the venue's garden patio, is set to close on February 17th. The plan is to make the transformation and reopen later this year as Tiana's Palace, with Mint Julep Bar returning.
It’s explained that Tiana's Palace "will have much of the same pinch of pizzazz and flair" as the animated film. You can see the full concept art that was released below, showing the restaurant's exterior, and it’s said that it will include "elegant fixtures and appointments reminiscent of Tiana's life and friendships."
Disneyland's French Market Restaurant originally opened n 1966 and it currently serves southern and Cajun specialties, including jambalaya, a slow-roasted Beef Po'Boy sandwich with house-made Cajun chips, and its signature roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Tiana's Palace restaurant joins the recently opened bayou boutique Eudora's Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana's Gourmet Secrets and the new Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction, opening in 2024, as the latest Princess and the Frog-inspired flourishes to come to the Disneyland Resort.
