Disneyland's Indiana Jones Ride Is Getting a Major Revamp Ahead of the Next Indy Movie
Indiana Jones Adventure, Disneyland’s fan-favorite ride based on the movies, is getting a revamp next year ahead of the fifth film’s 2021 release. The O.C. Register reports that, “Disneyland crews will replace a plank bridge and its steel structure in the show set of the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction and refurbish rockwork, according to the building permit.”
This is a pretty routine renovation for the theme park, as they like to keep things safe and working well for their guests. I used to work there, and while the closures are inconvenient for people who have saved up to visit, it’s nice that the park wants to keep people safe and having a good experience.
I got the chance to go to Euro Disney in France when I was a kid, and their Indiana Jones attraction has an upside down loop in it, so for a second I thought maybe that was the major renovation news. But alas, that would probably go against the codes that are set for the city of Anaheim. So we will just get the best version of the ride we already know and love.
All we know so far of the upcoming Untitled Indiana Jones film is that Steven Spielberg is set to return to direct, with Harrison Ford returning as the title character. The plot is rumored to be based on another book from the adventure series, and the film is in pre-production with a July 9, 2021 release date.
Are you excited to ride the spruced up attraction and see the upcoming sequel?
