Disneyland's New Marvel Superhero Land Will Feature an Avengers Roller Coaster and More
I went to Disneyland a few weeks ago with the kids and while at California Adventure, we saw a big barricade around A Bug’s Land with a big Stark Industries logo. This is where Disney is building their big Marvel Superhero themed land.
Today we have some new details to share with you regarding what this new Marvel area of the park will include. The first phase is set to open in 2020, with the second phase coming a year or two later.
As for the attractions that will be included in the Marvel area, WDWNT revealed that there will be a Spider-Man ride, a Doctor Strange experience, and an Avengers roller coaster.
Spider-Man Ride:
The former “it’s tough to be a bug” Theater building is being repurposed for the new Spider-Man attraction where guests are given a web-shooter of their own to use. The ride appears to be mostly screen-based (likely 3D in nature), so think Toy Story Midway Mania, but with guests shooting webs instead of darts, balls, and rings.
Doctor Strange Attraction:
Doctor Strange has his own show experience where guests will meet the Avenger in a round courtyard. We expect this to be similar to an offering currently on the Disney Cruise Line.
The Avengers Roller Coaster:
The Quinjet is located in front of the Phase 2 offering (not flying like in the poster), a truly massive Avengers E-Ticket attraction that is expected to be a roller coaster. As for story elements or anything beyond that, details are scarce at this point. All we know is that it is HUGE in scale.
There will also be a counter service restaurant and a microbrewery.
Sounds like this new Marvel-themed land will give Disney and Marvel fans some fun opportunities to play around in! It’ll be cool to see what it looks like when it’s all finished!
