Disneyland's STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE Millennium Falcon Theme Park Ride Looks Awesome
We are still more than a year away from the opening of Disney Parks' Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, where it will take visitors to a remote outpost on a planet called Batuu. When it opens in 2019, one of the main draws will be a life-sized Millennium Falcon complete with a flight simulator. We learned new details about the experience at this year’s D23 expo last summer, but we didn't have any images to look at except some concept art. But now we have our first official photo that gives us our first real look inside the Millennium Falcon theme park ride.
The Disney Parks official Twitter page revealed the image this morning (via InsideTheMagic). I've also included a lot of other images that have surfaced online that you can check out below features various other aspects of the Star Wars attraction.

Just about every Star Wars fan will instantly recognize what this photo is, and identify it as the interior the Falcon, but it's not clear where on the ride this is taken but it is part of the ride experience at Galaxy’s Edge. Concept art shows that guests will get to sit inside the ship’s cockpit during the ride, so this hallway could easily be a section of the ride guests will patiently wait for their turn.
Unlike most rides where guests just sit back and enjoy the experience, this will be an interactive experience, where everyone in the cockpit have a different jobs operating the Falcon as it navigates through space. The new park is based on interactivity, so much so that your performance on the ride will follow you for the rest of your stay. The “hottest flight crews” can earn extra credits, but if you beat up the ship during your ride, a bounty hunter might come after you in the nearby cantina.
What do you think? Are you excited to get behind the controls of the Millenium Falcon?
So what did I learn about #GalaxysEdge from @StarWars #GalacticNights? Here’s a thread:

Even water fountains as in this last pic feel like #StarWars. Imagineers & Lucasfilm based a lot of visual cues on Morocco #GalaxysEdge @StarWars #GalacticNights pic.twitter.com/lCffoQSoYx

The Falcon ride appears to be like Star Tours with different outcomes. No official confirmation but this look set in new Trilogy era. There will also be a new collector card game detailing potential storylines from the park #GalaxysEdge @StarWars #GalacticNights pic.twitter.com/zfGRL89aeH

Ok what else can I tell you about #GalaxysEdge as revealed at @StarWars #GalacticNights? I’ll say this: Doug Chiang was talking about world building a lot- and spent a lot of time talking about Vader’s castle. Dunno if that connects to the park. pic.twitter.com/7ToS5lgb37
