In a surprising and sad bit of news, Disney has reportedly canceled its DuckTales animated series. The show was revived in 2017 on Disney XD, it ran for three seasons, and according to Collider's Drew Taylor, the series is done.

The news was posted on Twitter in response to a trending hashtag about renewing DuckTales for a new season. Disney hasn’t said anything regarding whether the show would continue, and the lack of news regarding a Season 4 led fans to start the #RenewDuckTales2017 campaign.

I guess it’s all in vain. The tweet announcing the news reads: “I love seeing the #RenewDuckTales2017 hashtag but regretfully inform you that the show is very much done and has been done for a little while now. Not sure why Disney Channel has yet to announce this, but it’s the truth.”

The Ducktales revival series has actually been a fun show to watch! The creative team behind did a great job with it and it seemed to have found a strong fanbase. It doesn’t seem to make sense that DuckTales would be canceled. Disney hasn’t officially announced its cancelation, so not all hope is lost, but we’ll have to wait and see.

New episodes of DuckTales Season 3 have been airing on Monday nights on Disney XD. In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see if any official word comes of this.
