Disney’s Jungle Cruise movie based on the theme park attraction is now set to hit theaters and Disney+ this summer! The film stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, and comes from director Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan, Non-Stop, The Commuter).

Here’s the synopsis:

Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance.

The news hit with Disney’s earnings call, as well as an Instagram post from Johnson, which you can check out below. Jungle Cruise will hit theaters and Disney+ Premier Access for the additional fee of $29.99 on July 30th. This is a movie that my whole family has been looking forward to. We love this Disneyland ride, and we love the stars of the film. Since the drive-in will be super hot, it’s nice to have the option to watch at home. Where will you be watching?
