Disney's Live-Action MULAN Won't Include Any Songs From the Original Film

For those of you who are excited about the live-action remake of Disney's Mulan, I've got some disappointing news. Director Niki Caro (Whale Rider) recently talked about the film in an interview with Moviefone, and she revealed that her Mulan remake won't feature any of the songs from the original animated movie.

After explaining that the film will be an extremely muscular, thrilling, entertaining, and moving movie, she was asked about the songs not being in the movie, and this was her response:

"Yes, from what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children."

As a fan of the original film, that's kind of a bummer to hear because I enjoyed the music, especially the song "I'll Make a Man Out of You." There's no reason given as to why the musical element of the film is completely being cut out, but I imagine that Disney is looking to tell an epic story without it having to be a musical.

Even though there aren't any plans for making the film a musical, I'm sure Caro and the studio will tell the epic story in a way we'll all enjoy. At least that's what I'm hoping for!
