Disney's Live-Action PINOCCHIO Film Will Start Shooting Next Year
Disney Studios has several films in production at the moment that are live-action adaptations of their classic animated films. They got Mulan, The Lion King, Dumbo, Aladdin, Maleficent 2, and Lady and the Tramp. Now they are gearing up to get their live-action version of Pinocchio in production.
During an interview with Latino-Review, writer Chris Weitz (Rogue One) offered an update on Pinocchio saying that the script is currently being worked on, and the goal is to start shooting next year in Europe.
"It's going to shoot in England and Italy starting next year. We're still in the early stages of, you know, development and developing the script, so there's no casting to talk about, but I'm very excited about it."
There's no doubt that Pinocchio will be another huge box office success for the Mouse House. Pinocchio is one of my favorite Disney animated films. The story goes into some extremely dark places and I wonder if Disney is going to take out some of that stuff for the live-action movie. I'm actually really curious to see how they visually handle that terrifying scene where the kids start transforming into jackass'.
What are you're thoughts on this live-action Pinocchio film? What do you hope to see from it? Who would you like to see cast?
