Disney's Live-Action SNOW WHITE Movie To Be Helmed By THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Director Marc Webb
Disney isn’t finished making live-action remakes of their classic animated films yet! In fact, their very first animated feature film Snow White is currently is development and the studio is looking to hire Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, 500 Days of Summer) to direct it. He’s currently in negotiations.
Snow White is a super dark film and I hope that they don’t change that up. That’s one of the reasons why I liked that movie so much, is that it embraced the crazy darkness of the story. I’ve enjoyed many of the films that Webb has made and I think he’s a solid choice for this. I just hope that he and Disney don’t lighten things up.
The final act of the original film gave me nightmares as a kid! Hopefully this new film brings back those nightmares. As for the script, The Girl on the Train screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson is in negotiations to write it.
According to Variety, the film will “expand upon the story and music from the 1938 animated classic.” The studio has hired Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind La La Land and The Greatest Showman, to write new songs for the movie.
There have been other attempts to tell this story by other studios like Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman, but they weren’t very good.
