Disney's New Marvel Theme Parks Will Offer Fans a Cool Interactive Experience and More

As you know, Disney is currently developing Marvel themed lands at their theme parks around the world. They are calling it the “Avengers Initiative” and these attractions will expand the epic Marvel universe in a whole new and interactive way.

Fans will be able to take an active role alongside their favorite superheroes! The big announcement that contains several new details was shared by Disney Parks in this office description and a promo video that builds the hype.

There was an idea. To bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. It was called the Avengers Initiative.

That original idea has now evolved into a brand-new global Avengers Initiative. One that brings us—the next generation of remarkable people—together. To find our power and become something more. To see if we can work alongside the Avengers so we may all become stronger together.

The Stark Expo in Hong Kong was to be a first step: A world exposition whose theme of ‘A Better Tomorrow Today,’ was meant to inspire and motivate through technological innovation. However, shortly after it opened, the Expo was attacked by the forces of Hydra. When even more powerful forces threatened the entire planet, the Avengers realized that the Earth needs more heroes.

So today, to better defend the planet, the Avengers are setting up new Headquarters and technology sharing exchanges around the globe to empower and inspire all potential recruits willing to step up and become heroes.

In California and Paris, Tony Stark is retrofitting two of his father’s Stark Industries sites into new hubs for training and innovation. Through partnerships with S.H.I.E.L.D., Pym Technologies, Masters of the Mystic Arts and the new Worldwide Engineering Brigade, The Avengers and their allies will forge new global campuses to champion the next generation of heroes. Who’s ready to answer the call?

This sounds like it going to be a lot of fun for both kids and adults! As a long time fan of Marvel and the MCU films, it’s going to be a lot of fun to play around in this world in the most real life way that we can.

Highly anticipated new experiences at Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland will soon invite guests to become part of a bigger universe filled with epic heroes and adventures, and today we're sharing a sneak peek! Developed in partnership with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment, these three new areas will champion the next generation of Super Heroes.

As for the rides and attractions that have been confirmed, we have the following:

Hong Kong Disneyland already has the Iron Man Experience which allows guests to battle the forces of Hydra. In March of 2019, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! will be coming and it features Ant-Man and Wasp in a fight against Arnim Zola and his army of evil Hydra Swarm-bots.

Disney California Adventure park currently has Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT!, which is a ton of fun! That will be joined by a Doctor Strange attraction that allows fans to play with the mystic arts as well as a Spider-Man attraction that will involve his “gravity-defying feats”. Disneyland Paris will also be getting these attractions.

Guests will also experience the latest in Pym Technology with Ant-Man and Wasp and be wowed as Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America and more leap into action on a moment’s notice.

It’s going to be really interesting to see how this will all work, especially with all of these rides and attractions having “interconnected stories”. That’s one of the things that will make this all so exciting. Just like the story has been flowing in the MCU, these rides will features stories and characters that crossover with each other. That’s on top of creating individual narratives for Disney guests by tracking the decisions they make and what they do while they are in the park.

This has previously been teased, but now we know for sure what the plan is and it’s shaping up to be, what could be, one of the coolest and most immersive theme park experiences ever.
