Disney’s New Summer Trailer Teases Big Adventures With STAR WARS, TOY STORY 5, and MOANA

Disney is putting a huge spotlight on its upcoming movie lineup with a brand-new “Disney Blockbuster Summer” campaign, and it’s packed with some of the studio’s biggest franchises.

The newly released trailer highlights three major theatrical releases that are set to dominate the summer season: Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, Toy Story 5, and the live-action Moana.

The campaign leans into the full Disney experience, tying together movies, Disney+, merchandise, and theme parks into one giant entertainment push.

The trailer mixes footage from the upcoming films with attractions and fan experiences, showing how Disney plans to keep audiences immersed in these worlds far beyond the theater.

Disney’s Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, Asad Ayaz, explained the idea behind the campaign, saying:

“‘Disney Blockbuster Summer’ brings together the best of Disney storytelling and experiences, uniting our biggest films, destinations, streaming, and products into one unforgettable season with more ways, more places, and more moments to create lasting memories.

“Whether you want to travel through hyperspace with the Mandalorian and Grogu at Disney Parks, stream a Toy Story movie marathon with friends and family on Disney+, or unlock the power of play with new Moana-inspired toys, there is something for everyone to live their best Disney summer.”

The biggest thing fans will probably latch onto is the fresh footage from The Mandalorian and Grogu, which finally brings the hit Disney+ series to the big screen.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film continues the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu and it’s keeping the same mix of action, heart, and classic Star Wars energy that made the series such a massive hit.

The cast includes Pedro Pascal returning as Din Djarin, alongside Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt and Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward. The film arrives in theaters on May 22.

Then there’s Toy Story 5, which looks ready to throw Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the gang into a very modern problem. This time around, the toys are facing off against technology as they try to stay relevant in a world dominated by screens and devices.

The sequel features returning favorites Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, and Tony Hale as Forky. They’re joined by Greta Lee as Lilypad and Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants. The movie is directed by Andrew Stanton and Kenna Harris, with Lindsey Collins producing. Toy Story 5 lands in theaters on June 19.

Closing out the summer lineup is Disney’s live-action Moana, which brings the beloved animated adventure into live-action form. The film stars Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, with Dwayne Johnson returning as Maui.

The movie is directed by Tony Award winner Thomas Kail, with a script by Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller. Johnson also serves as a producer alongside songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda. The live-action adaptation sails into theaters on July 10.

Disney clearly wants this summer to feel like one giant event across every corner of its brand, and with Star Wars, Toy Story, and Moana all hitting theaters within weeks of each other, they’ve definitely lined up some heavy hitters for movie fans.
