Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE Is Said To Be Dwayne Johnson's INDIANA JONES Movie

Director Jaume Collet-Serra and Dwayne Johnson are currently prepping up to start shooting Disney's Jungle Cruise in Atlanta. We don't really have a lot of details on the film other than that it is based on Disneyland's classic adventure ride.

CB recently had the opportunity to interview Jake Morrison, who is the visual effects supervisor on the film and he gave a little insight into what the film will entail. The most important thing that he mentioned was that this will be Johnson's Indiana Jones film.

"I mean I've got to say, I'm incredibly excited about the whole thing, it's really like Dwayne is in a new Indiana Jones film. It's Dwayne at his best, and that is a man with some severe charisma. And then we're putting him on this huge adventure, and they've just literally announced the female lead in the picture is Emily Blunt. So, we're really excited. We start principal photography ... well I'll probably blink and we'll be doing principal photography, but we are in prep right now. And that's going to be a very fun film."

Morrison went on to praise the director, and even compares him to Alfred Hitchcock, saying:

"It's going to be great. I mean it's really I think Dwayne is just such a great character to work with. You know he's really just so good, top of his game I would say. And I can say, Jaume Collet-Serra who's our director, is I would say a master of action and suspense. I read in the press that they've dubbed him as like the new Hitchcock. And I actually think that's not terribly unfair, because he's got such great dramatic tension in all his pieces.

That's the first time that I've ever heard of Jaume Collet-Serra being compared to Alfred Hitchcock! This is the guy who directed Orphan, Non-Stop, The Shallows, and most recently The Commuter. I'm not sure I'd compare him to Hitchcock, but I'm sure he'll make a fun and exciting Jungle Cruise movie.

I wonder if Liam Neeson will make a cameo appearance in Jungle Cruise!
