Do You Agree With Simon Pegg's Ranking of The STAR WARS Movies?

MTV recently sat down with Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation star and notable geek Simon Pegg, and as is often the case with Pegg, talk soon turned to Star Wars. He's been one of the most outspoken people about that franchise since back in his Spaced days, and he's even appearing in an unknown role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The outlet asked Pegg to rank the live action movies in the saga from worst to best, and here's what he had to say:

For those of you who can't watch the video, his order is (from worst to best): Attack of the Clones, The Phantom Menace, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi, Star Wars, and The Empire Strikes Back.

In preparation for The Force Awakens, I recently rewatched the original trilogy for the first time in about a decade, and I was shocked to discover that after years of thinking The Empire Strikes Back is the best of the bunch, I now think the original Star Wars is the best film in the trilogy (and by extension, currently in existence). I know Empire gets all the praise for being the darker, grittier sequel and everything, but watching the trilogy with fresh eyes, it's clear to me that Star Wars is the most impressive because so many things could have gone wrong. The original is classic action adventure filmmaking, with a perfect three act structure and the archetypal Hero's Journey playing out wonderfully, but it's the world-building that I found so staggeringly good this time around. I think people who love Empire the most (and again, I was one of you until very recently) might take for granted the fact that Star Wars laid so much of the groundwork for the best moments in that film.

I'm interested to hear what you all have to say about this. Do you agree with Pegg's ranking? What is your favorite live action Star Wars movie so far?
