Do You Think You Know Movies and Actors? Check Out THE MOVIE GAME App

If you enjoy movie games, there’s a fun app that I’ve come across to help you pass the time and have some fun. While a lot of people are hunkered down in their homes and not going anywhere due to the coronavirus, The Movie Game app is something that could help you pass the time with your family or friends.

In the game, you link films and actors to win. I’ve played this game on road trips without the app, but now it’s in app form for people to enjoy. So, how do you play? Here’s how it’s described:

Name a movie. Now, name an actor in that movie. Then, name a different movie with that actor. Keep going until someone gets out. And, that’s it!

However, let’s say someone (Charlie) gets stumped, then he can use a hint (1 per turn). If Charlie gets stuck again, he can challenge the player who came right before him (Rose). If Rose answers correctly, then Charlie is out. If Rose answers incorrectly, then she is out! In games with multiple players, you keep going until only one player remains.

What are the rules?

#1 You cannot repeat an actor or a movie.

#2 Each player gets only one hint per game.

#3 You can challenge as many times as you want.

There are many ways to play. The app provides multiple ways to play with your friends, family, or neighbors with uncanny abilities at recalling obscure films.

Compete: Play others 1 vs 1 in turn based games. Play with 20, 30, 60 seconds or unlimited time.

Pass N’ Play: In this multiplayer version, add your friend’s names and play!

Bots: Challenge our movie bots to 1 vs 1 games. When you are ready for a challenge, try Daryl or Halle!

Practice: See how far you can go by yourself stringing movies and actors together!

Puzzle: Can you get from Tom Hanks to Angelina Jolie in 12 moves? Prove it!

Practice: Brush up daily on your knowledge of actors, actresses, and movies.

Popcorn is delicious… and useful

Bags of popcorn are the currency of the game. Use popcorn to purchase hints or extra games. Everyone gets 1 free Pass N’ Play game per day (This includes all players and hints for each player). Additional plays cost 1 bag of popcorn. In Compete, everyone gets 3 active games at any given time. To launch more games, pay one bag of popcorn. Hints costs one bag of popcorn as well. What can we say, we love popcorn.

An icon in the top right corner shows you how much popcorn you have left. Every player starts out with a large stash of popcorn. When you use it up, head to the concession stand to purchase more popcorn. Or purchase the Director’s Chair subscription for unlimited hints and games all month long. It’s super comfy and you’ll feel full of artistic vision.
