Doctor Doom Rumored to Team Up with Doctor Strange in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY
A new rumor has hit the internet teasing that Doctor Doom won’t be going it alone in Avengers: Doomsday. Past rumors have hinted that he’ll be leading a powerful group of villains, and now we know a possible character that could stand by his side, and it’s a surprising one.
During a recent episode of The Hot Mic, insider Jeff Sneider dropped a some new info saying he’s heard that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will be “working with” Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
He said: “I heard that Benedict Cumberbatch’s (former) Sorcerer Supreme will be 'working with' Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.”
If this turns out to be true, it raises a ton of possibilities. Is this the Doctor Strange we’ve come to know from Earth-616, or some multiversal variant? There have been rumblings that Doom will exploit his uncanny resemblance to Tony Stark to manipulate alternate realities and build a squad of twisted Avengers variants.
If that’s the case, a Strange from another universe could easily fit into that lineup. But that doesn't rule out our Strange from possibly flipping sides either.
Let’s not forget the last time we saw Strange, when Clea (played by Charlize Theron) popped in to warn him about dangerous incursions threatening the Multiverse. If Doom’s true objective is to stop those incursions, it might make sense for these two powerful figures to forge a reluctant alliance, at least temporarily.
Whether this partnership is strategic, manipulative, or born out of shared goals, it’s going to be fascinating to watch unfold.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars now scheduled for December 17, 2027.
