Doctor Doom’s head might soon be filled with popcorn, which feels like exactly the kind of ridiculous movie theater merch a massive Marvel event deserves.
Photos circulating online appear to reveal popcorn and drink containers created for Avengers: Doomsday, and if these things are legit, Marvel fans are going to have a new collectible to hunt down when the movie hits theaters.
The big attraction is a Doctor Doom popcorn bucket shaped like the villain’s iconic armored head, complete with glowing green eyes. It appears that Doom’s helmet opens to hold the popcorn, turning one of Marvel’s most dangerous villains into an extremely elaborate snack container.
There’s also a Doomsday soda cup featuring Doom sitting on his throne with the Avengers “A” looming behind him. Both designs look insanely cool and suitably excessive for an Avengers movie.
There is one important catch. The photos haven’t been officially confirmed as authentic. With convincing AI-generated images floating around online every day, it’s worth treating these as rumored merchandise until Marvel, a theater chain, or another official source confirms them.
An X post sharing the images quickly attracted comments from Marvel fans ready to throw money at the Doctor Doom popcorn bucket. One person wrote, “Need that Doom head tremendously,” while another said, “This popcorn bucket just unlocked a whole new level of Marvel madness DOOMSDAY looks absolutely WILD.”
Another fan found the perfect justification for eating popcorn directly out of Doom’s skull: “Scooping popcorn out of Doctor Doom’s head is the only way any of us are beating him, and I’m absolutely counting it as a win. Take my money.”
Popcorn buckets have become part of the spectacle surrounding major theatrical releases, and the potential Avengers: Doomsday design takes full advantage of Doctor Doom’s instantly recognizable look.
